Anti-AI Policy

SugarPages Author Events believes that AI and Gen AI has no place in creative spaces, so we will not tolerate or condone the use of it at their events.

Authors who use AI for covers, content or has used AI during any part in the creation of their book and it's subsequent online promotion(s) will not be permitted to attend events.

Here at SugarPages Author Events, we will always fully support and promote the imagination of humans and will continue to showcase gorgeous covers and character art by real artists. 

Our events were designed to bring together like-minded individuals who do not agree with the unethical use of AI in the creative sector.  

AI is everywhere these days… but it doesn’t have to be!

While some may not agree with our firm stance, it is with pride and intregrity that we staunchy adhere to this policy and vet our attending authors prior to the approval of their event application to ensure that AI does not enter our events.  

We want to protect our sacred space and share the love and passion for human-made stories and books!
 

Non-affiliated Advertisements 

SugarPages Author Events are happy to support other small businesses, local events, authors etc. However, any non-affiliated advertisements must aquire our approval before any distribution during the event or in the same venue. We rigorously carry out specific quality checks to ensure any promotional materials adhere to our anti-ai policy and is aligned with our beliefs and focus. 

Approval must be received prior to the start of the event, and failure to do so could result in any person(s) and promotional materials being removed from the event and venue. Continuous breaches of this policy will result in a ban from all future events.

Inclusivity Policy

SugarPages Author Events prides itself on its inclusive nature. We respect and welcome everyone regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, culture, religious beliefs, nationality, abilities and/or any other 'defining' characteristics. 

Our events are for everyone to enjoy. 

We expect all of our attending authors and guests to show common courtesy towards everyone inside our events and will not tolerate any aggressive or prejudiced behaviour. Failure to show respect to any of our attendees will result in the removal from the event and venue and a ban for all future events.

Accessibility 

It is our aim to ensure our events are accessible for authors and guests. When we view potential venues we consider any accessibility issues that may arise and if/how they can be mediated. We also do our utmost to set up our events to ensure wide walkways and ample room to manoeuvre wheelchairs, prams and allow space for those who require mobility aids. With our trained fire marshal all routes to fire escapes are also kept clear throughout our events. 

Dietary Requirements

SugarPages will often include the use of food stuffs, such as biscuits and sweet treats, in the welcome bags and VIP bags as well as prizes to be won during our events. We are aware that some may suffer from allergies, intolerances or any other dietary requirement, it is solely the responsibility of the consumer to ensure they are safe for their consumption. 

SugarPages Author Events will not be responsible nor held accountable. 

If you are issued anything you are unsure of or unable to consume, please issue directly to an assistant during the event, or discard safely afterwards.
